Home Entertainment Must-haves for the Holidays!

When the family gathers during the holidays, or even after a busy week, it can be a relaxing activity to watch a movie in theatre-like conditions; this is when a modern home theater system would come into play.

Home Theater’s popularity has exploded.

Over the past two years, several factors have contributed to the skyrocketing popularity of home theaters and media rooms. First, with the temporary closing of cinemas and the rise of streaming services, many have turned to their home entertainment systems. Second, a switch to a “rent a movie” model has encouraged families to invest in a home entertainment system to enjoy movies easily at their leisure.

In the unpredictable world today, a budget that may have been reserved for dining out or a round of drinks is now often used as a quest for a new, high-quality television or a sound system that will offer the best viewing experience.

You can watch a movie on your mobile phone, but it isn’t the same experience as when you set up a complete home theater system. Below we’ve put together what we think are the essentials of an ideal home cinema system.

4K Screen

There is no questioning that choosing a cutting-edge TV to upgrade from the one you have now will add value to your viewing experience. 4K displays that support HDR10 and use the latest LED technology is a great starting point.

These displays are affordable and will give you stunning pictures. But visuals are only a part of the experience, as sound is also pretty important. Some people are fine with the built-in speakers, but a sound projector (or soundbar) or a surround system will give a fantastic cinema-like experience.

Dolby Atmos Soundbar

The proper speaker configuration will enhance the quality of your home theater experience and create an atmosphere that will make you feel like you are in the movie theater. Size can be a factor in choosing the best audio system for your home theater setup. The primary considerations are convenience, aesthetics, and the available space to install your speakers. Most soundbars come with a built-in subwoofer to provide more powerful bass, Bluetooth connectivity, advanced HDMI ports, and Dolby Atmos support.

Surround Sound Speaker Systems

If you want a proper surround system, a 5.1 speaker setup is a good starting point; with five speakers along with one extra subwoofer, you’ll get closer to an actual movie experience. A 7.1 speaker configuration is even better but is generally more expensive and harder to install.

Level Up with a Professional Home Theater Room

If a 4K TV and a soundbar don’t cut it for you, you can always go for a complete home theater installation with a giant screen and a 4K laser projector. However, make sure you’re prepared as larger systems take up much more space, take some time to position and set up, and require a good deal of cable management knowledge.

Anyways, after all that, you’ll need snacks and a blanket to finish off your relaxation.
